This was a very special wedding to me as the groom is like another son to us and the best man was our middle son (they've been friends since junior school), so it was a privilege to watch Blake marry Zara, the girl of his dreams, in the beautiful Greek Islands. The festivities took place over several days, with dinners in picturesque tavernas on the island of Hydra and lazy days spent with a glass of ouzo and a mezze plate watching the group of friends who had travelled from all over the world for the wedding dive off the cliffs and swim in the azure sea.
On the wedding day itself, the guests all gathered at the harbour at Hydra and boarded a ferry, which took us to the little, almost uninhabited island of Dokos, where the ceremony took place in front of a tiny little whitewashed church on the top of a hill, amongst ancient olive trees, where Zara was christened as a baby. After the ceremony, where the couple was liberally pelted with rice, the guests walked down the hill to tables set up under shady trees for some food and refreshment and some spontaneous dancing, before boarding the ferry and returning to Hydra at sunset, for a reception under the stars at a local restaurant. A beautiful, happy wedding and one I will never forget.
💙 Congratulations Blake + Zara 💙
