education and inspiration .... sunshine coast portrait photographer

I recently spent a few days in the Hunter Valley at the Nikon Event, and while I was there did two workshops.  The first was a wedding photography workshop with Marcus Bell, from Studio Impressions at a beautiful little chapel at a vineyard (The Chapel at Peppers Creek), with a lovely young couple as models.  As always, Marcus was very generous with his advice and knowledge and I learnt a lot.  Just loved this beautiful little chapel too!

The second workshop was with the wonderful David Oliver at his farm in the upper Hunter Valley.  Many years ago, when my boys were very little, I saw some beautiful black and white photos of two little boys on a beach in a magazine, and I loved them so much I think it was one of the things that inspired me to get into portrait photography.  They were David Oliver's, so it was a privilege to be ale to meet him in person last month.  He and his wife Kathy and daughter Clare were so hospitable, we had a wonderful time with a workshop where are models were some of Australia's top photographers, followed by a delicious meal and a surprise signed copy of David's book.  Definitely the highlight of my trip!
