One of the guests at this wonderful wedding told me afterwards "that was a fairytale wedding". And it was. Everyone looked gorgeous, the bride was beautiful, the wedding party were amazing fun and the guests (who had travelled from all over the world) were all happy and in the mood for a party! As is so often the case with Zimbabwean weddings, friends and family had contributed to make this day special, including making the cake, supplying the gorgeous roses and even making all the bouquets and floral centrepieces.
Straight after the ceremony (which included the hymn "all things bright and beautiful" - very apt!) the couple cut the cake so the guests could enjoy some tea and cake while we went to the beach for some photos - and wow - did the Sunshine Coast turn on the most beautiful beach sunset I think I've ever seen. The sea turned exactly the same dusty pink as the bridesmaids' dresses and the sky was amazing. A fairytale wedding indeed - including plenty of love, laughter and happily ever after!
